Note to foreign students who work/worked part-time

Foreign students of Japan (with “Student” visa) are not allowed to do part-time job unless they apply and are granted to work part-time by the Immigration Bureau. They can work up to 28 hours a week after gaining a permission (same applies to those who with “Dependent” visas).

If they work more than what is permitted, they will face trouble when they change their visa. The income of the previous year shown in the tax certificate should be in reasonable figure considering the hours permitted to them.
